True Confessions

Briana has a link on her blog for "True Mom Confessions". I didn't know it but there is also a "True Office Confessions"(not to mention a "True Dad Confessions" and "True Bride Confessions").
I thought I would post a link to the site. Click
And go ahead. Confess away. You know you need to.

PS. Thanks Briana for helping me through my blogger meltdown and convincing me not to hit the delete button.

Who is "From Afar"?

I know I only posted a few pictures from Dr. Hegde's party. However, it seems someone was upset that I did not post a picture of Elsa. I didn't have one until just a few days ago, when she gave me a disk of her pics and video. To be fair, I had a lot to drink that night and was driven home quite early. I didn't have a whole lot of time to photograph anything. Elsa took most of the pictures that evening. That is why she is not in any of the previous photos I posted. I did find this one on the disk she gave me.
So, by popular demand from "From Afar", a picture of Elsa!
And, of course, Flora's backside.

Curious George

"We have learned that terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength; they are invited by the perception of weakness. And the surest way to avoid attacks on our own people is to engage the enemy where he lives and plans. We are fighting that enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan today so that we do not have to meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities."
George W. Bush, 7/07/2003

"You know, the hardest part of my job is to connect Iraq to the War on Terror."
George W. Bush, 9/06/06

Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable."
George Orwell, 1903-1950

As of Thursday June 21, 2007: 3545 U.S. military men and women have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Elsa's Pictures

A few more pictures from the party on Sat. These were taken by Elsa. Just a few of the doctors, nurses, therapists and staff that were still sober enough to pose for the camera.

A view of Flora, Briana and Jen from the beach. They insisted I post one of them when they were not eating.

This is Playa Del Rey. Our rehab physician, Dr. Hegde, has a house here along the ocean.
He had a party last night. This was a special event for all of us. We have been to many of Dr. Hegde's parties over the years. He usually has them at his office or in a restaurant. This is the first time he actually let us into his home. This is an old picture of my friends Dennis, Kirsten and Dr. Hegde. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of him last night. I would have liked to have taken more pictures. The view of the ocean from his balcony was really beautiful. I did manage to snap four pictures before the bottle of tequila was opened.

This is a picture of Flora. I have a couple more of her, but I am sure she doesn't want those plastered here on my blog. Besides, they are good blackmail material for a later date.

This is Briana and Jen enjoying the nann bread (yes, Briana has a mouthful of nann bread). Dr. Hegde had the party catered and we had a wonderful Indian dinner.

Like I said, I enjoyed quite a bit of the tequila Jen brought for Dr. Hegde. The evening is somewhat of a blur to me. I am sure the others will fill me in on all the happenings at work tomorrow. Until then, I will continue to delude myself into thinking I didn't make a complete ass of myself.

I did want to thank the good doctor for being a wonderful, generous host (I am thanking him here, like he is ever going to read my blog).

Just to be clear, Briana was my designated driver. No one was ever in danger from me being behind the wheel. She got me home safe and sound. Thank you, my friend.

A Sticker Situation

Ryan and Briana's son Dylan loves stickers. In fact, he is obsessed with stickers. He has a big sticker book which he likes to go through every chance he gets. He loves to put them everywhere. Hmmm... I wonder where he got the idea of putting them on his forehead?
Anyway, here he is modeling a mouse sticker(along with assorted necklaces and bracelets).

I went to their house last night for dinner. It wasn't long before the big book of stickers came out and we went to town. We put them all over his face, his neck, his hands. We put them all over his little tractor. But, that wasn't enough.

No. We all had to put one on our foreheads.

This is a sticker book with animals, birds, insects and reptiles. Since I was in charge of getting the stickers out of the book, I chose a lovely one for his mommy.

It was a tadpole.

I don't think I need to tell you what this looks like.

Use your imagination.

After all of this sticker fun, Ryan, Briana and I decided to to rent a movie.
So, Briana and I took off for Blockbuster to rent "Borat", since none of us had ever seen it.
Here is where the fun really began.
Somebody forgot to take the sticker off her forehead.

If I was half the friend I like to believe I am, I would have told her it was still on her head.
But secretly, I was enjoying the fact that she was totally oblivious to how funny she looked with a sperm sticker on her head.
We were halfway to the video store when she brushed her forehead with her hand. That's when realized she still had the sticker on her face.

"How long were you going to let me go with this sperm on my head? Until I got up to the counter to pay for the movie?"

"Well, yeah. That was the plan. Until you ruined it." :)
