For P R

They come to me looking for a voice.
A way to tell their story.
A way to communicate with the world.

Melanoma.
Brain Cancer.
Surgery.
Radiation.
Chemo.
Repeat.

I never understood why you weren't angry.
Angry at your fate.
Angry at God

How are you today?
"Happy to have one more day."

Now there are no more days.
The last one, gone.

Your voice,
Your story,
Will stay with me for a lifetime.

Trick Or Treat

It's getting close to Halloween and the decorations are going up in the neighborhood.
I thought it would be fun to post what I've been seeing around town.
This first house is interesting.
Lots of spider webs. Nothing else.
Come to think of it, maybe these aren't decorations.
At any rate, it's not very scary.
Maybe someone has just neglected the yard work.

Some people don't want to put much time or effort into the decorating, so they put up one of these Halloween flags.

A lot of the decorations people put up are not scary. Most are just very sweet. After all, you don't really want to scare all the little kids who are trick or treating, right?

This house, for example, has a little scarecrow pumpkin.

This front yard has a big, beautiful jack o lantern.

There are some people who want to decorate, but just don't know what to do.
So, they just throw every decoration they own on the house.

And then, there are some people who really get into the spirit of the holiday.
The people who live in these houses really want to put a scare in you.

I found these two homes with big, ugly spiders above the porches.

This house has the front yard transformed into a cemetery, complete with a scary skeleton and warnings to "stay away".

But, then I came across this house.
This house had the most frighteningly evil, most terrifying and vile front yard decoration of them ALL!

No treats at this house, my friends.
Only wicked tricks.

Addie

Flora is right. Getting to see this cutie pie is a wonderful birthday present.

48

I had a birthday yesterday.
As I get older, I am not too fond of birthdays.
But, I am fond of birthday cake.
My friend, Mei, made this beautiful german chocolate cake for me.

Briana sent this video to me during the day of my favorite little boy sing "Happy Birthday" to his Tagi (that would be me).

In the evening, I went to their place for another fabulous german chocolate cake.

Now, Briana grilled me a little on whether or not I knew I was going to get TWO german chocolate cakes for my birthday.
Well, of course I did.
Mei told me last week she was making me one.
I told her she didn't have to, but I was secretly hoping she would.

I liked having the cake at work. It was a wonderful cake and it was GONE before you knew it.
But, that didn't concern me too much. I was happy to share.

Because I knew I was having another one later in the evening.
TWO cakes for the price of ONE birthday!

And, with the one Briana made for me, I have leftover cake for the next few days!

As you can see, Addie was a little bored with the whole thing since she couldn't have any cake.

At The Zoo

I took Dylan to the zoo today while his Mommy worked and his Daddy took care of Addie.
My friend Donna came along. Always nice to have an extra set of eyes, ears and hands when you're looking after a three year old!
We saw lions, tigers, elephants and monkeys.
I think the little meerkat that was splayed out on his back looking up at us was the cutest thing ever!
Donna really loved the gorillas and bears.
And, for Dylan, it was all about the alligators and hippo.
We had a great time, but unfortunately, I forgot my camera.
Here is one shot from my cell phone of Dillie looking at the gorillas.

Question Of The Day

John McCain on the debate tonight: "We'll get Bin Laden. I know how to get him."

If Sen. McCain knows how to "get Bin Laden", why the hell doesn't he let Bush in on his little secret???

Mr. Palin's UnAmerican Association

So, Gov Palin was here in California this past weekend.

She was insinuating that Sen. Obama is not patriotic.

She's quoted as saying Obama has been "palling around with terrorists". She is referring William Ayers. Obama was a child when Ayers was involved in bombing government buildings around the time of the Vietnam War.

Obama apparently was on a charity board with him and Ayers held a fundraiser at his home for Obama early in his career.

This qualifies as "palling around."

Which is quite interesting actually.

Mr. Palin was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party for 7 years. An organization that wants to secede from the United States.

The founder of this Party, Joe Vogler, is quoted as saying, "I'm an Alaskan, not American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

Very patriotic indeed.

To Hell In A Handbasket

I guess the implication here is that women who don't vote for her and McCain, will go to Hell.

Sec. Albright actually said, "There's a place in Hell for women who don't help other women."

Geez, this woman can't even read a line off a coffee cup correctly.

I'm doing my part to help other women.
I'm voting Obama.
